Why I stopped using a monitor arm
Arms are great until you need to move the desk. Mine needed a clamp, a grommet and two people to adjust. A simple riser with a shelf underneath turned out to be steadier and freed up space for a keyboard tray.
Notes on monitor stands, desk layouts and keeping cables out of sight.

Sit as you normally would, look straight ahead, and measure from the desk surface to your eyes. The top edge of the screen should sit at or slightly below that line. For me that meant raising the screen by 11 cm.
A steel mesh tray, four screws and a handful of velcro ties. It holds a power strip, two adapters and every cable that used to hang behind the desk.
